I guess it’s time for a little update

First of all I’ve gotta say, only 5 comments on the last blog entry? That sucks really. Okay okay, I do know it wasn’t the sauciest entry in the history of blogging, so I guess I would have to try and make this one worth commenting then.

Astrid Katrine made a list of blogs in a previous blog entry, where she picked my blog as the most honest one. I wasn’t even expecting to be mentioned, as there are so many great blogs out there, but seeing I was made me one happy blogger. Most honest eh? Yeah, I guess I am quite honest, I don’t really put much censor on what I write here, and I do believe what I present on my blog is 100% me. So I guess it’s time for a little update.

I have a boyfriend.

This is major news ain’t it, haven’t had one in years, and the last one I had I didn’t even like. This time around I really really do like my boyfriend. I mentioned him in the previous entry, Steven, and well yes, he did come to the library and that’s where we became a couple.

Reason I haven’t really said much about him before is because it has been kinda complicated, and I wouldn’t wanna say anything before I was more sure things would work out. Then he said why wouldn’t it work out, so yeah, I’ve got a boyfriend and his name is Steven.

Tonight we’re having our first full-on houseparty in Dunstall Road, should be fun. Seems like a few people from my class is coming, which is cool cause they are epic people. I should get out of bed, eat some breakie and then clean my room before Magda turns up and kills me for not having done it. She almost had a heart attack yesterday when she saw it so.. Sure there’s gonna be an update tomorrow or something after the houseparty, with pics and stories from the party, stay tuned, and keep commenting.

I am sat in my bedroom, my ever so messy bedroom, listening to Escape The Fate. Finally remembered that I was gonna buy their albums once back in England, so todays trip into town ended in two CD’s and a pair of knickers from Primark. It proper annoys me I didn’t buy those concert ticks to the Hollywood Undead/Escape the Fate gig in Birmingham right away, it is now sold out. So I guess that’s a gig I have to give a miss. Bleh. Other than irritating myself over the fact of my stupidity, I’ve had a good day. A very good day actually. There are some uncertain but exciting stuff happening in my life atm, but for now I’m gonna keep the details to myself.

I hate crappy internet, not getting to update my blog as often as I would like, but I’m trying my best to keep you all updated. Sorry for what might not be the most exciting blog entry in history, that will come later on.

OOooooooh btw; big announcement! Renate aka meself has found a coffee she actually likes in Starbucks! Mocha! Funny how that has been my sisters nickname once….

Just a tiny little note

From now on I will be posting all my entries in photography contests on my photography blog, and also my own photo contests will be hosted on that one, so make sure you check it out, or else you might miss out on epicness. You wouldn’t want that! Also, if you care to follow this blog, you might want to follow that one as well? I know I wouldn’t mind if you do!

Photography Contest

I came across a photography contest on Christine Bakke’s blog, and I figured I’d join in. The theme is Citylife (Byliv) and seeing as I had an urban landscape assignment last semester at Uni, I knew I had quite a few photos from Birmingham. Going through all the pictures and eliminating took forever, but I finally managed to choose a photo for it.

I think it’s kinda nice… What do you think?

Home

Yesterday after work I couldn’t be happier about the fact that it was Friday and I had the weekend off. The weather was nice..ish, so in the evening I went out with my lovely camera Mr. Poynter, as the skies were somehow epic for photographs. I walked over to my grandmas house, seeing as she’s not home I figured I would photograph around there, in her garden and such. The outcome of the photographs turned out pretty good, and I must say, I do think I live in a beautiful place. Two other pictures from last night are posted on my photography blog, go check it out.

Beautiful place

We live in a beautiful place

I have played with the thought of having a contest of some sort, the very first so on my blog. So I came up with an idea while walking around shooting (yes I’m constantly thinking of ideas for my blog, while shooting, being at work, lying in bed, eating etc. yeah pretty much anytime anywhere). Yes, back to the contest. Now, I’m not expecting loads and loads of entries, but I do hope at least some of my regular readers will join in, pretty please!! Begging isn’t attractive, but hey, I don’t care.

PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST!

I want to see your best photograph from your home place or where you live if you’d rather do that. All you have to do is to post a blog entry about the contest on your blog along with the photo of your choice. It doesn’t have to be a new picture, but you have to be the one who’s taken it. With that I would like you to add a few lines about what’s the best part about the place your picture is from.

I haven’t got a big, spectacular prize, but I will come up with a nice little something, that will be personalized by my impression of the winner. Also the winner will be mentioned and honored in my blog throughout August. Some free publicity isn’t all bad is it?

Let me know when you have entered by commenting this blog entry, with a link back to your blog. Hope to see you lot making an effort, this could be fun, I hope! Closing date I’m not sure on yet, I’ll see within a week how many people who’s entered.

Failure!

I was gonna write a nice little add about what I’ve been up to lately, pictures in hand and everything. But guess what? I’m too tired! Working Monday till Friday is bloody hard, especially for someone like me who’s used to only working Tuesdays till Fridays. One extra day might not seem like a lot, but believe me, it is. I got the feeling the weekend would never come, but now when it’s finally here and I can stay up late cause no work tomorrow, I’m too tired for a proper add and seriously considering going to bed. Already!

However I have updated my photography blog, check it out HERE and leave me awesome comments there, will be soooo appreciated if you did. I have also added the photo blog to Bloglovin, you can find the follow button on the bottom of the page if you want to follow it. Also very appreciated if you do.

After a good nights sleep now, I will come back stronger tomorrow, so stay tuned and keep cool. Talkin’ bout cool, I’m not. I’m sweating like a pig. Btw, that saying is kinda wrong, ’cause someone told me once that pigs doesn’t really sweat much. Huh, funny that.

Haha, and now this add turned out just as long as maybe the actual add I was planing, only with fewer pictures. I’m such a failure!

Thanks

Would like to say thanks to Therese, who made comment number 800 on my blog, and also a general thanks to everyone who bothers reading and commenting my blog. You are all wicked way beyond epic, love you.

It’s time to change the world.. Or my blog.

I am making a few changes to my blog to make it awesome as I have decided to become a famous blogger, and earn a hell lot of money.

Just kidding… maybe.

Defining My Blog

I’ve been considering defining my blog a bit, right now it’s just a mix between everything, a random blog about random things I so randomly write about. I was thinking it should have some sort of theme to it, like a photo blog, or a fashion blog. You know the ones there already are tons of all over the internet.

I don’t think a fashion blog would be very good if it was written by me, a clueless fake blonde, currently located in her green walls bedroom in a house in the middle of nowhere in a small town in the middle of Norway. Sure I enjoy clothes, I enjoy style and hell I love shopping, but that doesn’t mean I know anything about it. And I for one is not gonna start pretending I do either. There was an article in one of my local newspapers today about street fashion, a concept I find rather cool tbh, having a street fashion blog means basically taking pictures of people in the street that is wearing cool outfits. No need to be an expert in the fashion area to write down the details the people so kindly provide you with while taking their picture. It would combine two things I care about, photography and style. Problem is that I am still a bit too shy to confront people I don’t know in the middle of the street, asking for a picture. I could however ambush them, taking a picture in all hurry for then to run away, screaming my lungs off. Okay, the screaming part might not be necessary come to think of it. But doing so, I’m not sure about the quality of pictures and also, no details about what the poor people were wearing. Lame attempt of a Street Fashion blog.

What about a photo blog then? Posting my own photographs, with some kick ass captions underneath, that should be cool. It is, I enjoy blogs and websites of any kind that has anything to do with photography. But I just don’t feel the need to restrict my own blog to that. I already have a deviant art profile, I have flickr even. Besides if my blog only consisted in photos, I think I would loose at least a few of the wonderful people who reads my blog.

A good blog in my opinion is a blog with personality, a unique blog reflected by its writer. If I jump onto the bandwagon of the fashion blogs or/and photo blogs, what will I be left with? A blog that is just not me. Like I said in the beginning of this ever so genius blog entry, and let me quote myself;

You know the ones there already are tons of all over the internet.

There is not tons of blogs online concerning the likes and dislikes of Renate Solhaug, there is only one. There is only this one. Why would I swap my originality of my at times ever so twisted little mind, to become something I’m not. I guess what I have found out writing this entry, is that sometimes randomness isn’t that bad, not if you are good at it anyway. I think I might stick to what I know.

Recommended

So I thought I would be so kind that I would recommend a blog for you. It’s fairly new, but yet very good. The blog maister is called James, and is one of the funniest guys I know, something that rubs off in his writing. This is no blog about the latest lipstick on the market so if that’s what you seek, you might be disappointed. Nah, this is better. His sarcasm and strong opinions on different matters, makes this blog all worth spending some of your time on it, I swear he should be a columnist!
