Holiday Away ‘09

So I came across this blog with a nice little photo challenge about highlights of your holiday away this summer. You post pictures of yourself from your holiday, with a nice little headline showing people some highlights. Tho atm I can’t seem to find the link to the blog where I found it, if I do, I’ll edit it in later on. My holiday away was in good ol’ Egypt if you remember, so here’s some highlights from that.

Success I’d say!

2 million camels

That was the biggest offer me and Ida got from the locals who wanted to buy us. Unfortunately for them, we were too expensive. So now I am back home in Norway, it is cold compared to Hurghada, Egypt, and it’s been raining. The sun however just peeked in through the window, but it has got nothing on the boiling sun down in Africa. Despite the crappy weather here up north it is kinda good being home again as well, no annoying egyptian men who wants to sell us stuff or buy us. Never ever have I felt more like a piece of meat circled by a flock of hungry Hyenas as I did walking the streets of Hurghada. That has got to be the only thing I won’t miss. Everything else were pretty much none the less epic, and the hotel we stayed in, the Steigenberger Al Dau Beach Hotel had earned their 5 stars well.

These were the highlights from our wonderful trip to Egypt, enjoy!

Yeah, it was kinda a great, awesome and wonderful week in Egypt, well recommended!

Ready to rumble!

So… the penicillin I got from my doctor yesterday is working! I feel loads better, which is such a relief since it’s only *counting on my fingers* 4 days till we leave for egypt! Well not even fully 4 days! Like I wasn’t excited enough already, reading Ida’s blog yesterday made me even more so. Today after work, me and Ida went shopping for our trip, I got a black bikini bottom and we also got some sun cream and after sun cream (is that what it’s called lol) and then went to the tanning saloon, which sucks compared to our beloved one back home in Wolverhampton. I miss Wolves I do. But not gonna complain, no not now! I am positive and I am getting well and I am going to Egypt! What should I nag and cry about tonight? Nothing. Promise, I am happy tonight.

Summer!

It just hit me that today is the last day of May, which would mean that tomorrow is the first day of June! Crazy how fast time flies by the older you get, and I’m only 20, so by the time I’m 40 will I even have time to celebrate my birthday before it’s christmas?! Being almost June already means the summer is pretty much here, and these last two days have been amazing weather-wise, tho it is said to be raining again by Tuesday. Go figures seeing as I have to drive to work then.. Bleh. Tomorrow isn’t just the first of June, but also a week away from Egypt! I’m glad time moves so fast, cause this trip is something I am really looking forwards to, I have enormous expectations, I hope I won’t be disappointed. Bad side to it is that it most likely will move just as fast or maybe even faster when we’re there, meaning we’ll be back home again in no time. Booo to that. But then again, that means summer gone like that, back in Wolves in no time!

Summer have always been my favorite season as I hate being cold, and frankly, I am cold pretty much always except on warm summer days or when I’m so drunk I can’t really tell if I’m cold or not. This season has so many amazing memories like going camping with my family all around Sweden. It might sound a bit dull, but to me it is memories I wouldn’t be without. Okay, sitting hours on hours in a hot, crowded car may not be heaven, but our parents have always been good with finding activities and taken us places to see and experience things. I thank them for that, for not just dragging us to a beach somewhere, only moving our lazy bums when going for a drink or something to eat. It is nice to actually feel like you have been different places, by going sightseeing, finding what is special for that exact place. If all you care to see is just a beach and some green water, you might as well stay put one place and don’t bother going anywhere else. So are you going camping this summer as well then you might ask. No, I have only one vacation planned for this summer, and that is Egypt. What will I do there? Lay on the beach and work on my tan, when not swimming in the green water or going for something to eat and/or drink of course!

Sweden is summer, swedish music gives me that summer feeling I need to start packing my suitcase full of bikinis. I heard this one on the radio yesterday, a good old Swedish summer song, awfully difficult to sing, yet I sing along!

Håkan Hellström – Kom igen, Lena!

I was just going to post Håkan’s song but when snooking around on different blogs I came across a blog entry (see it here) with another swedish summer wibe song called Ser Jag Tjock Ut I Den Här (do I look fat in this one?) which I thought was pretty cute, so I’m gonna leave you with that one as well. Enjoy.

Work and such

Today has been a good day. Not an amazing, perfect day tho cause that would involve me + a certain someone somewhere hot and exotic, making it even hotter with our activities there. Volleyball obviously.

But yeah, so today was my first day at work, I am a home help, that is directly translated from the Norwegian name for it, hjemmehjelp. Basically, I clean and tidy and help old people with stuff, while they offer me coffee every 5 minute. Might not be my dream job, but it’ll do for the summer. Money is money right? Besides, I do get to wear a killer work uniform.

Fierce!

Fierce!

When I got home I saw that the sunglasses I bought had arrived *mini spazz*

They are huuuuge

They are huuuuge

But I love em

But I love 'em

But best of all is that I finally (FINALLY) found my boob top!!! *major spazz*
For reasons unknown, I choose not to post a picture of it atm.

Other than that it’s been a real missing him day today, well after I came home from work anyway. It sucks. Big time. Gah, I hate it tbh, everything is just so messed up. But on the good page, it’s less than 2 weeks till Egypt!

It has now officially ended.

Bye bye Didrich bye bye…

I had my first meeting with my boss today, she was a very nice and talkative woman so I didn’t feel awkward or terrified at all. Which is good. Agreed on me starting work next Tuesday, for so working to Friday. Obviously not in one go, I will be allowed to go home, at least for sleep :p Same the week after, and then the following week from there… WE’RE GOING TO EGYPT!!! Not me and my boss of course, but me and Ida. In just 3 weeks we will be in Egypt, it’s sick! I still feel as tho we just booked the holiday, complaining about it being sooo far away. Now it’s practically just around the corner. SICK!  Also, in our talk today, my boss so kindly asked me if I could take out my lip-ring, my beloved Didrich, and well, what was I suppose to say? So, he’s history, gone, dead.. Well, not yet really, cause it’s still in. But soon. I might shed a tear. I’ve had him for over 2 years, and just like that he’ll disappear. Gah. I guess, money or lip-ring.. Quite close, but in favor for money I’m afraid. I need money, cause pretty, little Renate here, she bought the sunglasses she drooled over in the previous blog entry. What can I say, I’m a shopaholic!

Oh just remembered I said I would post the result of my baking today, of course I will!

Presenting my very own Orange Chocolate Cake. Might look like it has just come home from war, but hell it tasted good!

Wooop woooop a very cold and tired Renate is now heading off to bed, may the force be with you.

…I can’t stand;

Immature brats, who thinks their way is the way without considering the options. and who freely express their feelings in a rather stupid and brain dead matter. There are ways to express yourself without being a dick about it.

Bake a cake! Believe it or not, but I have decided to actually bake a cake, me who never bakes! I will get back to you with the result, which has a biiiiig chance of being crap.

Which means good evening in that language they speak in Egypt. Random you may say, but no it’s not you see. Me and Ida have been rebels, hooligans, yes almost spontaneous and ordered ourselves a holiday for the summer. Where to? Correct, the land of Terror if you ask our parents, Egypt. We have spent a lot of money we don’t really have to spend, on this, just for the hell of it, and I’m so excited!

It’s a 5 star hotel, no shitty motel, only the best for us. Steigenberge Al Dau Beach, a haven of sophisticated luxury in the centre of Hurghada’s touristic complex on the Red Sea in Egypt.  By the looks of it, it is absolutely gorgeous and just what we need after a stressful semester at Uni. So bring on 8th of June!
