Weekend

Friday night we met up with Coral at ASDA, buying some food and drinks before heading back to our casa, where we made the food and drank the drinks. This was happening while Love Actually was showing on the big screen in our living room (A big black box of a telly, where the screen is too small for our sky channels). I absolutely love Love Actually, it’s such a lovely movie. Really gets the Christmas spirit going, it’s only bloody 6 weeks left of this semester!! This blog won’t be about stress tho, as you so nicely can read about that on Ida’s blog. After too much pasta, a bottle of cider and the movie ending, just as cutely as always, the superstars came out to play as we turned on the Singstar.

Saturday started with a walk into town with Ida, where we went to the tanning studio, we’re getting back to our snow-white beings, so we had to take action. Then I had a hairdressers appointment, my roots had to be dealt with and that now. After a good couple of hours, loads of head massaging (Mmmmmm) and with roots matching the rest of my hair, I was done and £70 poorer. I then had a nice shower (This being back home if you wondered) and got all dolled up looking presentable for when my boyfriend would come. And when he did, I kissed him. You see, Saturday the 7th of November was me and Stevens 1 month anniversary, so he was staying over at mines. We first watched the Wolves game on my Mac, while getting awesome sound effects from outside (We live close to the stadium, it’s easy to hear when a match is on). ASDA up next, where we bought some food and drinks. This resembling last night right, only add more drinks to the basket. We watched a bit of X Factor while cooking, Steven who so doesn’t care about X Factor at all, got very into it, shouting at the TV, especially when John and Edward was on. And I quote “THAT’S NOT SINGING, IT’S BLOODY TALKING AND GAAH!” It was fun. When the food was ready and X Factor done, we put on twilight, and my dear boyfriend actually seemed to enjoy the film. I got more and more giggly, after all I did have not one, but TWO bottles of Kopparberg. After the film we went upstairs to my room to let’s say, call it a night.

Sunday me and Steven watched Whose Line Is It Anyway (If you haven’t seen it, check it out! This one is brilliant Clicky) on my Mac, still sat on my bed, laughing our butts off. His dad picked us up, and we went over to his place where we played some xbox, boxing. I did rather good I reckon, didn’t win, but hey, I did okay! Then we had a lovely Sunday tea, his mum starting to learn the right amount of food to put on my plate now, and I actually managed to eat up. She found it very funny showing me some baby pictures of Steven, he was soooooooo cute! Some things never change. Me and Steven then played some Wii sport, Steven doing very well in Bowling, me doing slightly better. First game; Steven 177 points, me 178. And I’m the one with least practice! He turned on the Baseball instead, cause I sucked the last time we played that, but who managed to get a home run? Yes, I won that game as well. As a slight cheering up, Steven realised his top score on bowling was 179, which means I hadn’t beat him, so then it was okay to play bowling again. Me winning that round as well… With 184 points. Thank god he’s not as bad a looser as I am, he swallowed his pride and kissed me and said “Well done”. He will now be home playing and practicing his bowling everyday haha.

I really should get out of bed and over to the library now, loads of uniwork to be done, I hope I can concentrate on it!

Weekend….again!

Holy crap and I do excuse my language, it is bloody Friday again!! Time flies by sooooo fast I’m not sure I’m keeping up with it. Since I’m an absolute horrible blogger nowadays, I guess I should sum up my week. Monday me and Steven had our first date, this being a trip to the cinema in Dudley, where we watched an animation film by Tim Burton called 9. Was a nice film that was, yes we did watch it, that is what you go to the cinema for. After the film we took the bus back to his place where his mum made us tea.

Tuesday was alright at uni, my teacher asked me something, and even tho I totally freaked out over the fact I had to say something in class, took me about half a minute to speak, I did spit out some words with a smaller sense of intelligence in the end. Maybe me rather proud. Then I headed over to the library to read a god-dammed book I don’t understand, giving up on that task and being sent home by a concerned boyfriend over MSN, to get something to eat. Apparently cookies aren’t good enough to last you a full day. Then I spent the rest of the day being rather moody and soppy, cause I didn’t understand the book, and the thought of presentations closing in stressing me out. Took that out on my poor boyfriend, we had a little honest convo, still over MSN, then he came over to mine to stay the night. Waking up in his arms are seriously the best thing I know.

Wednesday me and Steven had to get up early, because his morning lecture were at 10. We were late… We met up with him mummy at her work, before heading over to Yates’s for breakfast. After that it was back to uni, where my clever boy had a bit of a breakthrough making my website, you should have seen the joy on his face. So adorable words can’t even describe it. Around 3 I had a doctors appointment, went alright then me and Ida headed into town where we ended up in Pizza Hut for tea. Once again back to the library after that, where I was sat resizing images while waiting for Steven to come back after his tea. When he did we had a little kissy before he went off to his lecture, when he came back again we had another little kissy before he had to go, quiznight at the pub with his mates. When I got back home around 9ish in the evening I surprised Ida with a card and a little pressie, and we ate some nice cheesecake.

Yesterday I met up with Magda in the library to do some epic uniwork (yeah right), rather farmville and waving to Steven on Skype that is. Two days in a row at Pizza Hut, cause Magda decided that we were going there for lunch, and when Magda says so, that’s the way it is hehe. We shared a cider, enough to get the two of us tipsy, so we were pretty much giggling throughout the lecture we had. Then another afternoon spent at the library, with my boyfriend on Skype it’s not so bad. Him being very nice making my website all pretty. Finally home me and Ida ordered Chinese and watch a film with Leida, one of our housemates.

Today I got a lecture at 2, should be an okay one, actually looking forwards to it. If only Steven could wake up and get his ass on MSN so we could do some last minute changes to my website, that would be very nice!

If you read all that, you must be very bored, my week hasn’t really been James Bond.

Wednesday.

We have a sketchbook due on Friday, a sketchbook I haven’t really done much for.  I have Wednesdays off at Uni, perfect to catch up on some uniwork, so I tend to spend my Wednesdays at the Uni library. Problem. Steven is in at Uni on Wednesday, which means he can come see me. So my productive day did not really end up very productive, and I still have a sketchbook to do… Tomorrow will be a productive day. I hope. It kinda have to be, or else I’m screwed. Yes, tomorrow will be productive. Steven isn’t in at Uni on thursdays, tho he said he would come see me briefly before or after he has been to the work center. Briefly means I should have time to be productive both before and after I see him. I like Steven, he’s my boyfriend ^^

I really can’t wait for this weekend to come, it is going to be so much fun. On Friday I’m going to Stevens after my lecture, we’re then going out to celebrate Coxie’s birthday which should be fun. Saturday is Halloween, and I really can’t wait to get all dressed up in my costume. I’m trying my hardest to convince Steven to dress up as well, crossing my fingers he will. Or else I’ll dress him up!

At midnight Me, Ida and Leida surprised Maggie by knocking on the door to her room, and as she opened, we were stood there with a cake, sparkling wine and gifts, singing the birthday song. She got so surprised and so happy she almost started crying. It was proper cute. Yeah, things are alright in Dunstall Road at the moment.

Answers – Part 2

Photo 51

Starting this round is Karina, and she had quite a few questions;

What kind of kid and teenager were you? As a kid I had a lot of temper. Really stubborn and wanted things my way or no way at all. Got angry over things real quickly, but the anger never lasted very long, and a few minutes later I could be the happiest little girl again. Yet I was very kind and not much of a rebel really, came home in time for dinner, went to bed when my parents asked me to etc. As a teenager the temper cooled down a bit, still had it stored inside me, but I needed more to trigger it now. Still a good girl, never really up to much rebellious stuff, always respecting my parents. I think I wasn’t half bad actually!

What kind of posters was hanging on your wall when you were about 16? This was early period of loving McFly, so my room was covered in all the posters of McFly I could find.

From what side do you think you look best? My right side, ’cause that’s just right.

Do you sometimes try to teach Steven Norwegian? Oh yes, and I must say he’s picking up on it rather quickly. He knows the names of my parents and my siblings, and he also knows how to say I like you and thanks in Norwegian.

What do you really want to get for Christmas? A wide-angle lens for my Camera, just because it is pretty darn awesome pretty much.

3 items that would really please you to have in your hands right now? Steven, tho he might not be an item, my beloved teddy that I forgot at home after summer and the new style black collection from MAC.

What’s your favorite color? Right now it’s yellow. I change it from time to time, but always seems to come back to yellow.

What’s your favorite way of getting from A to B? I love to fly, the feeling you get in your stomach just as the plane take off or is about to land is soooo awesome, tho the time in between is pretty boring..

For how long have you been blogging? Oh my, I seriously have no idea! My first entry on this blog was on the 12th of October 2008, which means it is just over a year old, but I had another blog before that on blogspot, so I dunno really.

The next 5 questions comes from the beautiful Merethe;

What kind of camera have you got? I have a Canon Eos 400D that my mummy and daddy gave me a few summers ago.

What’s it like studying in England? I swear moving here is the best thing I have ever done, have not regretted it once. At first it was a bit weird how everything was in English, was kinda worried I wouldn’t be able to understand everything, but getting used to it it really isn’t a problem at all.

What is your favorite thing about your blog? I like having a place where I can write pretty much whatever is on my mind, also the notion of keeping people I care about updated on what is going on in my life when living so far away most of them.

When’s your birthday? January 27th, so it’s not that far away now until I turn 21, which is a major thing here in England. Gonna be epic!

What is your natural hair color?

Photo 52

There's a reason I color my hair

Helene asked me these two;

What are you most pleased with with yourself?

Photo 52i

My teeth

If you had to choose the picture you are most pleased with, which one would that be? I choose to believe you mean in the sense of photographs and not where I look the best, difficult to choose, but I really like this one;

Tea_Time_by_renatesolhaug

Sandra came back with a great question;

What sort of latesomdyr would you want to have? It would have to be a latesomflodhest (pretendtobehippo), ever since I was a tiny little girl, hippos have been my favorite animal, the pretend/latesom kinds or hippos that is, not the real deal, they are dangerous!

Even tho she knows most things about me, Ida also had some questions;

What could you not survive a day without? (You can not answer lip balm or Steven); Before I had read the whole thing I was like “that’s easy, lip balm! but no… then I thought Steven, but once again.. nope.. I’m therefor gonna be that geeky and say food.

Who inspires you the most in your every day life? A concrete answer to this question would be impossible, because there is so many people out there who inspires me, in different ways.

If you didn’t live in England and were studying foto, what do you think you would be doing now? I would most likely study something else not too far away from home, possibly Trondheim. I am so glad I’m here tho, and really wouldn’t change it for the world. If I didn’t know you (Ida) I wouldn’t have been brave enough to actually fulfill my dream and go abroad to study, which means I would’ve missed out some amazing times, never met all the amazing people I now call my friends and my boyfriend. I guess this kinda answers the question above as well.

Top 3 memories shortly described?

  1. Being on stage with McFly, eating pizza while watching them perform.
  2. First trip to England, everything so new and fascinating, making me certain I wanted to move there (here) someday. Front on the B-stage at Wembley, seeing all the London attractions etc.
  3. Partying with rockstars, epic times

Only 3? Darn I just took 3 of the top of my head now, I got so many amazing memories, that choosing the top ones are simply impossible, I have a life where complaining should not be allowed atm. Top 3 memories could easily be replaced with 3 other memories just as good. Halloween last year was good, Halloween this year will be better :) Oh my, I’m sooooo looking forwards to that now! I’m rambling, what was the question? Oh right. Well, I’ll keep those for now.

Are you wearing socks? If so, what kind of socks? No, in fact I am not wearing socks at the moment!

The last ones comes from the pretty Kayso, she’s got one of the best blogs I know, check her out.

When did you begin with photography, and why did you decide on studying abroad? I haven’t been doing photography that long, just about 2 – 3 years really, and it was all on a hobby basis until I moved here and started my course. So it was a lot to learn, I didn’t know half of what they were on about. I have always wanted to study and/or live abroad, especially in England. So when Ida moved here, the thought of moving that far away wasn’t that scary anymore and therefor I applied, got accepted and moved. Never regretted it since.

What kind of SLR would you recommend (me) people to buy? This depends on what you want with the camera. If you are just a hobby photographer, with no further meanings with your photography than on a personal level, a cheaper SLR is more than enough. A Canon Eos 1000D for example doesn’t cost heaven and hell, and is more than good enough. If you plan on selling your photography and make your way as a photographer, you would most likely pay a bit more to get those extra megapixels, tho you don’t really need the newest, most flashing camera out there, there are professional photographers who actually use Eos 400D and even the 1000D, you get along way knowing how to photograph what, and with the amount of lenses out there as well, you can take some brilliant photos. As you can tell, I’m a Canon girl, never tried Nikon, so not gonna tell you Canon is better or what not.

What’s the dearest thing you owe? I would be lost without my Macbook.

Nerdy perdy

I woke up this morning feeling rather worried as I had a very bad dream during the night, involving my boyfriend dying. It wasn’t funny to say the least, and it just gave me an icky feeling of something being wrong.  After a while I had to text him and actually ask him if he were okay. Which clearly he was, it was just my mind playing games with me. It is a horrible feeling tho, thinking someone you really care about might be hurt or worse.

Me and Ida went by Specsavers, as the two of us had an eye test booked for today. First up was moi, and I got to hear that my eyes were pretty darn healthy and all that, which was good, and that in the two years since my last test, my sight had not become much worse, yay. I then picked out two pair of new specs, as it’s like 2 for the price of 1, ended up with two designer pairs from Osiris. Will go back next friday to pick them up, can’t wait ^^

Picture 1

Tonight me, Ida and possibly Leida (who is Plaza Dunstall’s 4th and newest habitant) are going to Cheekeys, gonna be weird going there not bumping into Steven and his mates, cause he’s not out tonight. Bleh. But it’s gonna be a good night out anyway, dancing and singing. Oh, and alcohol of course.

Just have to make sure I’m not too shabby tomorrow as I have plans…… I’m going to my boyfriend’s house. I’ll meet his mum. I hope she’ll like me.

Have a splendid weekend!

Friday Night Party House

Last night we had a house party, and I wouldn’t be lying if I said I got kinda drunk. Very drunk actually. Seemed like a lot of people did, which is good, tho it also seems as tho a lot of people drank our alcohol, as it is pretty much all gone now. And we had loads. Loads I tell you. But whatever, it was a really good night, and I had a lot of fun with some of my favorite people. It would take me forever to sum up the night, and since we went to bed around 7-8ish this morning, I’m dead tired and can’t be arsed tbh. I kissed my boyfriend a lot.

What a weird night…

So last night was the All Time Low concert in Birmingham, and I do have to admit it sure was a night where we were pretty much going through the motions. There were some surrealism and epic music causing to lack of voice the following day, mixed in with alcohol and kissing and some killer dance moves. No tears did appear that I’m aware of, but I don’t think it was that far off. So yeah, it was kinda a weird night.

The surrealism part of it started once we found our way in to the O2 Academy, Sarah meeting two blokes from this band she likes, Twenty Twenty, and me and Ida were pretty much just standing there, clearly not really knowing who they were. This was not the surreal part, it has yet to begin. After Sarah got her picture with the two, I noticed Mr. Danny Hall standing by the bar. *Danny Hall was a member of the band Son Of Dork, and has now a new band called Hill Valley High, check them out on Myspace. Sarah spazzed a bit, and we made our over to the bar, me just randomly standing next to him, obviously just to get something to drink. Ehm. Once he got his beer, he turned around, and I was sure he was just going to walk off, cause I wasn’t gonna be a teenie chatting to him. But, we did have Sarah there, so he wasn’t getting away anytime soon. This is where the surreal starts. She asked for a picture, he actually seemed surprised that we had recognized him. “How did you recognize me?” He laughed and my dear Sarah just pointed at me, saying “She did”, I felt a bit teenie then afterall. But tbf I kept it cool, even drinking from beer when Sarah got her picture with him, and well, I had to get one as well. I mean, I was the one who noticed him in the first place.

IMG_0022

This is when you think he’d bugger off and go enjoy the concert with his mates and stuff, but no. Actually, he hung around pretty much throughout the concert, only walking a bit back and forth now and then. He was totally chatting me up. I don’t mean to brag, but how cool is that? Lol, ok might be bragging a bit. I mean, when he says “Can I please have sex with you tonight?”, I sure can say he fancied me? Was real fun hanging out with him and drinking, that’s for sure. And if things were any different, I’m sure I’d be in a bush with him without even blinking.

Before ATL came on stage, Alex joined one of the support acts on stage for a bit, caused loads of screams that did, then after doing that he walked straight past us, and then again when walking back backstage. He was dragged through the mass by security tho, so we couldn’t really talk to him. One of the guys around him turned out to be Rian tho, and not a security guy, even tho some might have thought that.

All Time Low onstage was epic. Nothing more, nothing less. We already knew the set list, so didn’t expect many surprises, so when they started Coffee shop Soundtrack I proper freaked out, they weren’t suppose to do that one, and that’s my fave song!! Loved it. Then right after they played Let it Roll, which is Ida’s fave and that one wasn’t on the set list either, brilliant. They were amazing up there, and me, Sarah and Ida were all a proper sweaty mess after the gig. I mean, you kinda have to dance!

IMG_0028

IMG_0029

IMG_0031

The club after the gig, Propaganda just wasn’t Cheekeys, so hell we took the train back to our beloved Wolverhampton and the Civic Hall, Friday and Cheekeys are where the party’s at. Emotional roller coaster.

Me and Ida are now sat by our dining table, surfing the lovely internet from Sky, finally got it (!), stomach making sounds and my voice is gone.

Breathe.

Monday.

In lack of wanting to rant on about my feelings at the moment, as I am confused enough myself, no need to confuse you guys as well, I chose to copy this list thing from the gorgeous Astrid Katrine. I have translated it to English, for my lovely non-Norwegian readers. Am I not just ever so kind?

Ten firsts
First best friend: Ida
First crush: This boy nicknamed Calle waaaay back in kindergarten.
First favorite book: That must have been a series of books by the author Staron Slamon, that I got through a book club I was in, TL-Klubben. I don’t know what the books are originally called, but in Norwegian they were called “Overnattingsgjengen”. I loved those books I did.
First pet: Never had one.
First holiday: My mum and dad brought me to Sweden in a caravan when I was just a few weeks old.
First job: Like a proper one would be cleaning a garage.
First love: The first one I’ve been anywhere near in love with must be Henry.
First piercing: In my ears.
First dress: No idea.
First concert: Another no idea. Seriously, I can’t remember stuff like that.

Nine lasts:
Last drink with alcohol: Believe it or not, but I think it’s beer! :O
Last trip in a car: Don’t think I’ve been in a car since Towers took me and Ida to Ikea, weeks ago that is.
Last movie I watched: Saw “The Ugly Truth” earlier tonight. Cute.
Last phonecall: To my mummy last night, singing the birthday song for her, made her start crying that did. Bless.
Last song I listened to: The Party Scene – All Time Low.
Last kiss: -
Last friend I saw: Ida.
Last time I cried: Just over a week ago.
Last meal: Some scrambled eggs.

Eight have I ever:
Fallen for a friend: Yes.
Driven a car: Sort of.
Slept under a tree: Not sure.
Been heartbroken: Yes.
Made a prank call: Yes.
Said I love you without meaning it: Yes.
Written a poem: Yes, some terrible ones.
Been to Australia: No.

Seven things I am wearing right now:
1. Bra
2. String
3. Night shorts
4. Morning gown
5. Glasses
6. Lip-ring
7. Hair clip

Six things I have done today:
1. Been to the gym

Three choices:
Winter and summer or fall and spring? Fall and spring
Flowers or bushes? Bushes obviously! Haha
Sugar or salt? Sugar

Two things I have to do before I die:
1. Find true love.
2. See places.

One thing I want more than anything else:
To be happily in love for once.

Now you give it a go!

London Baby!

Renate, that would be me, and Ida, that would be IdaPida, took the tut-tut-train down to London Baby on Tuesday, for a few days of complete and utter randomness. On the day of our arrival the sun was shining bright in the sky, it was real summer temperature, what a great start. After some walking here, then some walking there we finally found the hostel we had booked for our stay. Obviously we had not booked the entire hostel for the two of us, but a room more like. After some undressing in the heat, we headed out into the big city to meet up with Erika, such a lovely, lovely girl we finally had the chance to meet. The three of us got ourselves a cooling frap from Starbucks each and walked over to this park thingy I can’t remember the name of, that was located right next to the London Eye. When bums started to fall asleep from sitting on the green gras, we walked to Leicester Square, where we had dinner at Wagamamas. I thought I did a splendid job eating with the chopsticks, until Ida told me I was supposed to break them apart. So doing that, made the eating part a hell of a lot harder. But in the end I had managed to get it all down in me tummy, and it was very yummy. After being fed we walked over to Soho where we had a drink, me and Ida had a mojito each while Erika enjoyed a cold beer. It was then time to say goodbye to Mrs Jones, hugs and smiles we parted, me and Ida walking by a Nordic Bar (Go Scandinavians!) on our way back to the hostel, where we of course had to enjoy a kopparberg. Okay then, three. Someone got rather tipsy, who that someone was is left for you to guess. I must say out of the decorations in the Nordic bar, the british people seem to think we celebrate christmas all year through. I told them we didn’t.

blog1

The next day we got up early. Had a nice little breakie at the hostel before taking the underground to Victoria, and the Apollo Victoria Theatre to buy tickets to go see Wicked the musical. And tickets we indeed got, front row ones for the afternoon performance. With a few hours to kill before the show, we explored the area around Victoria. We enjoyed mango-passion fruit juice and paninis, walked around the shops we could find nearby,  for example Topshop where we tried some pretty cool shoes, tho the heels would kill.

IMG_9427

IMG_9418

2:30 PM and it was time to go see Wicked, making our way front row we felt supercool, not gonna lie. The theatre was a lot smaller than what I had imagined, so we got proper close to the stage and more than once could I feel the cast make eye contact with me. Obviously, this could be me being paranoid, but I choose to believe this was the case. The performance was nothing but extraordinary, could not take my eyes off the stage and what was happening, goosebumps the entire show through from the amazing singing. Alexia did such a great job being Elpheba, and oh my if I could sing like her, I would be one very, very happy girl. So if you have not seen Wicked, it is highly recommended, go see it!

After the musical had finished, we walked through Hyde Park on our way back to Oxford Street. Nice little park there with some cute jumpiethingies (aka squirrels). We were meant to be shopping in Oxford Street, obviously, but sorry, London baby just ain’t Wolverhampton. Ended up with a tiny bag from H&M. Todays dinner were found at this restaurant called Spaghetti House, ironically neither me or Ida had spaghetti.

blog3

The last day spent in London baby were also a warm, sunny day, the perfect setting of a perfect end to our lovely getaway. It started off with breakfast at the hostel before we checked out and headed for Oxford street to do some shopping. Not that we were much better today when it came to that, I did end up with a little bag from La Senza tho, after getting a discount after a bra size fitting session. I was just between a 32 and a 34 (some would say I’m then a 33) so using a 34 was correct of me, yay go me. Tho I was a cup size bigger than I thought, not that I mind, I’ve always wanted bigger boobs haha. After walking here and there, store to store it was time for what may have been the biggest highlight of the trip. No we didn’t run into one of the McFly guys, nor did we book a job in Wicked, but it was just as good, cause James came in to London baby to see us! We went to Starbucks right away for lunch, I had my mocha frap, Ida and James had their caramel light frappes, we talked about pretty much everything, from McFly to life in the wilderness. We then stroddled off down to the Thames and the London Eye, me and James not nervous about going on a wheel that takes us up way hight just by the water, so we would most likely die if it fell over, no not at all. Ida on the other hand was shaking… (Did anyone believe that?) But fear not, we did indeed survive, it was not actually scary once we were up there. I guess I just felt safe knowing James was there to look after us. Evening time we took our dear to the Nordic Bar, as he loves us Scandinavians and everything that has anything to do with that. We had swedish meatballs, mash and gravy with lingonberry jam. Yum. And kopparberg of course. Awesome company, awesome food, perfect ending.
