So not ready for this!

It is now 2 hours till I got to be at Uni for our welcome back meeting blahblah, which means that today the summer is officially over for me. Even tho it feels like I’ve had time off for ages, which I have, it also kinda feels like we just split up for the summer. Very strange and mixed feeling. I am not ready to say goodbye to summer just yet, but there is no way around it really, so I just have to suck it up and deal with it. I guess it will be good getting back into some sort of routine, and actually have stuff to do. I just need to be better this year, especially when it comes to the research part. I hate doing research, scanning the odd-smelling library for books to use when I don’t even really know how to use them. I can complain as much as I like, but it is got to be done unfortunately. Back to Uni would mean less;

London Baby!

Renate, that would be me, and Ida, that would be IdaPida, took the tut-tut-train down to London Baby on Tuesday, for a few days of complete and utter randomness. On the day of our arrival the sun was shining bright in the sky, it was real summer temperature, what a great start. After some walking here, then some walking there we finally found the hostel we had booked for our stay. Obviously we had not booked the entire hostel for the two of us, but a room more like. After some undressing in the heat, we headed out into the big city to meet up with Erika, such a lovely, lovely girl we finally had the chance to meet. The three of us got ourselves a cooling frap from Starbucks each and walked over to this park thingy I can’t remember the name of, that was located right next to the London Eye. When bums started to fall asleep from sitting on the green gras, we walked to Leicester Square, where we had dinner at Wagamamas. I thought I did a splendid job eating with the chopsticks, until Ida told me I was supposed to break them apart. So doing that, made the eating part a hell of a lot harder. But in the end I had managed to get it all down in me tummy, and it was very yummy. After being fed we walked over to Soho where we had a drink, me and Ida had a mojito each while Erika enjoyed a cold beer. It was then time to say goodbye to Mrs Jones, hugs and smiles we parted, me and Ida walking by a Nordic Bar (Go Scandinavians!) on our way back to the hostel, where we of course had to enjoy a kopparberg. Okay then, three. Someone got rather tipsy, who that someone was is left for you to guess. I must say out of the decorations in the Nordic bar, the british people seem to think we celebrate christmas all year through. I told them we didn’t.

The next day we got up early. Had a nice little breakie at the hostel before taking the underground to Victoria, and the Apollo Victoria Theatre to buy tickets to go see Wicked the musical. And tickets we indeed got, front row ones for the afternoon performance. With a few hours to kill before the show, we explored the area around Victoria. We enjoyed mango-passion fruit juice and paninis, walked around the shops we could find nearby,  for example Topshop where we tried some pretty cool shoes, tho the heels would kill.

2:30 PM and it was time to go see Wicked, making our way front row we felt supercool, not gonna lie. The theatre was a lot smaller than what I had imagined, so we got proper close to the stage and more than once could I feel the cast make eye contact with me. Obviously, this could be me being paranoid, but I choose to believe this was the case. The performance was nothing but extraordinary, could not take my eyes off the stage and what was happening, goosebumps the entire show through from the amazing singing. Alexia did such a great job being Elpheba, and oh my if I could sing like her, I would be one very, very happy girl. So if you have not seen Wicked, it is highly recommended, go see it!

After the musical had finished, we walked through Hyde Park on our way back to Oxford Street. Nice little park there with some cute jumpiethingies (aka squirrels). We were meant to be shopping in Oxford Street, obviously, but sorry, London baby just ain’t Wolverhampton. Ended up with a tiny bag from H&M. Todays dinner were found at this restaurant called Spaghetti House, ironically neither me or Ida had spaghetti.

The last day spent in London baby were also a warm, sunny day, the perfect setting of a perfect end to our lovely getaway. It started off with breakfast at the hostel before we checked out and headed for Oxford street to do some shopping. Not that we were much better today when it came to that, I did end up with a little bag from La Senza tho, after getting a discount after a bra size fitting session. I was just between a 32 and a 34 (some would say I’m then a 33) so using a 34 was correct of me, yay go me. Tho I was a cup size bigger than I thought, not that I mind, I’ve always wanted bigger boobs haha. After walking here and there, store to store it was time for what may have been the biggest highlight of the trip. No we didn’t run into one of the McFly guys, nor did we book a job in Wicked, but it was just as good, cause James came in to London baby to see us! We went to Starbucks right away for lunch, I had my mocha frap, Ida and James had their caramel light frappes, we talked about pretty much everything, from McFly to life in the wilderness. We then stroddled off down to the Thames and the London Eye, me and James not nervous about going on a wheel that takes us up way hight just by the water, so we would most likely die if it fell over, no not at all. Ida on the other hand was shaking… (Did anyone believe that?) But fear not, we did indeed survive, it was not actually scary once we were up there. I guess I just felt safe knowing James was there to look after us. Evening time we took our dear to the Nordic Bar, as he loves us Scandinavians and everything that has anything to do with that. We had swedish meatballs, mash and gravy with lingonberry jam. Yum. And kopparberg of course. Awesome company, awesome food, perfect ending.

My weekend

Erlend came and spent the evening with us

Erlend came for a lovely visit, spending the night

Just for the record, Erlend is my sisters boyfriend, and he has been alone at home this past week when my sister and Camilla have been on holiday to Rhodes. So we invited him over to stay with us on Saturday, camping in my brothers room during the night, for so coming along with me and my daddy to pick up the two travelers at the airport today. He did not spend the night with me, if that was the impression I gave you HAHA

Sunday

Today I was gonna be awfully good, sweating out all the extra calories I consumed last night in form of chocolate (M&M’s and Maltesers), Coca Cola (in more than one form), chips and dip. Started the day okay, woke up around 8:am, had my Special K and was fully dressed and such in good time before the rest of the household started moving in their beds. BUT.. Somehow I ended up in front of my Macbook, too lazy to even bother doing any exercise at all. Making up excuses for it in my head, such as “Too early”, “Too many people around” and bladiblah. So I made up my mind about doing some serious exercise once mummy, daddy and Erlend went to get Monica and Camilla. BUT.. My mum decided to stay home, meaning there would be a free seat in the car, and of course I wouldn’t say no to a trip to the airport (CAN’T WAIT ‘TILL NEXT TUESDAY!). Camilla and Monica told us stories about their stay in Rhodes, seemed pretty pleased about the experience, which is good. Monica and Erlend came back to ours where we had Sodd for dinner. Yummy^^ Got Rhodes pressies off my sister, thank you! Then when my sister and Errrlend went back to theirs, mum and dad driving them, I finally got off my lazy bum and onto the exercise bike for an hour or so while watching LA Ink. And it felt goooooood! So now I’m sat in my room about to head to bed, after making supper for me and my parents (a lovely renolette).

That was my weekend. How was yours?

My best friend calls me a shopaholic, I can’t help it. The clothes talk to me, I would be awfully rude to ignore them!

All by myself…

That’s what this weekend have been all about, me, myself and I. Yesterday, Saturday, I went shopping alone, buying some jeans, body lotion and a magazine, before walking over to Aboteke for  lunch. This alone. However it felt kinda nice spending time with myself, doing something else than sitting where I’m sat atm, in front of my Mac.

Today I went to the airport with mum, dad and brother little, to send them off to Rhodes for the week. After they went for check in I had a good 1 and a half hour before the train were to leave, so I just had to wait. Sitting on the platform waiting. This alone. I manage to get the time to go by as you can see, taking pictures, and I won’t lie, I did take loads of photos of me. Why not when having such a egocentric weekend.

Had to do something while waiting...

Back home I made a homemade pizza just for me, and enjoyed it with an episode of LA Ink. Then another LA Ink episode started straight after, so I went on the exercise bike for that one, working off that pizza I had just eaten. Nice and sweaty I enjoyed a long, hot shower before just relaxing in front of the telly the rest of the night. Another working week starts tomorrow, so now I’m off to bed. This alone.

Don’t forget my photography contest I started in the previous blog entry. Join, you know you want to! :)

Spelpub and the aftermath

Last night at the Spelpub was pretty good, I’d say.

Highlights:

  • Met up with old mates and some relatives even.
  • Got happily tipsy, okay drunk.
  • Danced (tho the guy I danced with got a hold of my number and has been texting and calling me, tho I have not replied his texts, as I don’t really want to haha, can’t even remember what he looked like!)
  • When the Spelpub closed we had a drunken version of a sort of guided play in the area, very funny.
  • After getting home popped a Hold It in the micro, then while waiting for it to be done almost falling asleep on the kitchen floor LOL

Me and brother Hovland

Me and brother Hovland

Woke up around 9am (in bed, not on the kitchen floor) not awfully hungover, but it was easy to tell I’ve been out drinking the night before. Had such a craving for coke, I need coke the day after! So I had to drive into town to buy some. Before shopping I stopped by Ida’s to get the party cam. Her brother was home, and boy he didn’t look like he was in his best state this morning, poor guy hungover from wine. Then on my way from Ida’s to the mall, I took a detour and went by a local beach, where I had a little photo shoot, trying out that scenery I mentioned in an earlier blog entry.

What you think?

FINALLY getting to the shopping bit. Had a proper grown up shopping trip, buying dinner for myself. Got myself the oh so longed for bottle of coke and also one spare one for tomorrow, as I might be in need for one then as well. For dinner I bought some turkey leaf beef and stuff for a salad. Was epic good I tell you, dear lord I’m amazing in the kitchen, laying down or standing, doesn’t matter!

And it's rather healthy too!

Out drinking again tonight, when I’m not completely sure. Should jump into the shower and refresh. I’m actually planning going without showing my boobs tonight! Shocker!

Shopping spree

This weekend has been good. Yesterday I went to Trondheim with my family to do some shopping. Was great being all of us again doing something together, it has been awhile. Things change when the daughters of the family moves out!

Nice weather in Trondheim

My dad and little brother took off on their own, going to some butch guy stores, while the women aka mum, Monica and meself, ran to the closest clothing stores to find. We ended up spending loads of time at H&M, in two different malls! We were trying on tons of clothes, me being maybe slightly more experimental than the other two.

Why didn't I buy it right?

Even trying on loads of clothes I ended up buying… nothing! I had around £40, and when I got home I still had around £40. I guess Trondheim, Norway, isn’t the same as Wolves, England. My sister on the other hand spent quite the amount, so did my mum.

Monica is pleased with her buyings

So yeah, I really could have needed James darling to be there, helping me spend money. Or IdaPida, she seems to know what to say to make me spend haha. I kinda love her for it, tho my bank account don’t. The issue Wardrobe vs Bank Account, Wardrobe wins, fair play.

Also, I know my last blog entries have been kinda filled with loads of pics, and less chattering, I’ve taken loads of pictures lately. I just want some feedback on that, is it a good thing or bad? I want to know what you prefer, so I can try to fulfill your blog needs lol

Jeans!

I wish I was rich or at least richer, shopping has the last year somehow managed to become one of my favorite activities. It really is true that a girl can never get enough. Enough sunglasses, enough bags, enough jeans etc. After reading Ida’s this weeks wishlist I checked out Forever21 myself, bad idea! In the jeans shop I found a few items I would love to belong in my own wardrobe, worst thing is that they aren’t that expensive either, not at all really. Scary, I might end up buying it all when I get paid. I shouldn’t. I should save, save, save. Maybe just one?

If I were to buy one, which one do you reckon I should go for?
